The Working Principle of Spiral Classifier
Spiral classifiers are widely used in ore dressing plants and ball mills to form a closed-loop circulation process. It is used to classify ore sand and fine mud in gravity concentrators. The spiral classifier is used to classify the particle size of ore pulp in metal beneficiation processes. It is used to remove mud and water in ore-washing operations. The spiral classifier is mainly composed of a transmission device, a spiral body, a trough body, a lifting mechanism, a lower support, and a discharge valve.
The Working Principle of Spiral Classifier
The spiral classifier is a device that classifies solid particles based on the principle that they have different sizes and specific gravities and therefore different sedimentation speeds in liquids. Fine mineral particles float in the water and overflow, while coarse mineral particles sink to the bottom of the tank and are pushed to the upper part by the spiral for discharge. The powder ground in the mill can be filtered, and then the coarse material is screwed into the mill feed port by the spiral vane, and the filtered fine material is discharged from the overflow pipe. The base of the spiral classifier is made of channel steel, and the body is welded with steel plates. The water inlet and shaft head of the spiral shaft are made of cast iron sleeves, which are wear-resistant and durable. The lifting device is divided into electric and manual types.
Advantages of spiral classifier
1. It retains the advantages of cyclone spiral classifier material sorting and dispersion and an external fan circulating airflow classification, adds cage rotor classification inside the machine and fine powder collection device mainly based on bag filter filtration outside the machine, thus changing the powder selection principle inside the machine and greatly improving the processing capacity, powder selection efficiency and fine powder collection capacity of the spiral classifier.
2. It makes use of a large amount of cold air outside the machine to reduce the material sorting temperature inside the machine. High-concentration dust-containing gas or dust-containing gas discharged by other auxiliary equipment can be directly introduced into the spiral classifier. It simplifies the grinding system and is also conducive to increasing the wind speed inside the mill, reducing the power consumption of grinding and increasing the output of the mill.
