Common Faults And Solutions Of Flotation Machine

Flotation machine is one of the main equipment used for separation in concentrator. In the actual production, the flotation machine will encounter a variety of problems, such as screw falling off, groove bottom wear, impeller cover wear or corrosion, scraper mechanism is not flexible, bearing clearance becomes larger and so on. These faults not only affect the normal operation of the flotation machine, reduce the service life of the flotation machine components and flotation efficiency, but also aggravate the material consumption of flotation machine parts and increase the intensity of maintenance work.

1. Flotation machine cover or screw fall off

During the operation of the flotation machine, the rotating impact and vibration will make the cover or screw of the flotation machine fall off, and then affect the normal operation of the flotation machine.

The solution

Before starting the flotation machine and in the process of daily maintenance, check whether the bolts of each part are tight. If it is damaged, replace it in time.

2. Flotation machine tank bottom wear or corrosion

In the long-term operation, the slurry in the flotation machine tank is strongly rotated by the flotation machine, and the tank under the flotation machine is seriously worn and gradually thinned, which leads to the wear and deformation of the surrounding guard plate. In addition, under the action of flotation agents, the thinning tank will accelerate the corrosion, and then affect the normal operation of the flotation machine.

The solution

When the flotation machine tank is damaged, the flotation tank should be repaired in time. If the damage is serious, the whole tank should be replaced in time.

3. Flotation machine impeller wear or corrosion

As the main and vulnerable parts of flotation machine, impeller and cover plate are directly related to the aeration degree and stirring degree of pulp in the flotation process. The long-term operation of the flotation machine will cause different degrees of wear and corrosion to the impeller and cover plate, resulting in larger clearance between the impeller and cover plate, reduced inspiratory capacity, and then affect the flotation efficiency.

The solution

A.The impeller and cover plate of flotation machine should be maintained and repaired regularly. When necessary, the impeller or cover plate should be replaced in time.

B. Adjust the axial clearance between the impeller and the cover plate with the adjusting gasket to ensure that the axial clearance is within the required range.

C. Keep the concentricity of impeller and cover plate.

4. Flotation machine scraper is not flexible

The scraper of the flotation machine is located on both sides of the upper part of the flotation machine tank to scrape the concentrate foam, which is one of the main components of the flotation machine. Long-term operation of flotation machine will cause the scraper mechanism of flotation machine is not flexible, and then lead to shaft breaking, machine temperature rise, motor deceleration or oil leakage and other problems, affecting the flotation efficiency.

The solution

A. If the scraper shaft rotation is not flexible, the adjustment pad can be added between the scraper bearing seat and the slot body.

B. If the scraper is broken, it should be replaced in time. Do not continue to use it after welding, otherwise other parts are easy to be damaged.

C. The bearing clearance becomes larger

When the main bearing of flotation machine runs at high speed, the bearing clearance will be enlarged due to wear and corrosion, leading to oil leakage and even damage.
